Coronavirus

Your Questions, Answered

How does the Coronavirus impact my treatment?

We have had to make a lot of changes to protect everyone that visits us during the pandemic. These have been made in line with a full Health & Safety Risk Assessment and action plan.
You will receive instructions before you attend your first treatment giving you details of what you need to do and what you will experience during your visit. In particular we will be wearing face masks and eye protection, using hand sanitiser and recording the temperature of both client and the therapist before the treatment.
Between treatments we now have to perform a deep clean of the treatment room and any other impacted areas. We also spend time using UV Sterilisation to ensure anything bacterial or viral has been eliminated.

You will also be asked to declare that you and your immediate household do not have any COVID-19 symptoms.

What happens if I develop COVID-19 symptoms several days after my treatment?

Be aware that under some circumstances you may have flu like symptoms following a treatment. This is called the "Healing Crisis" when your body reacts to the toxins released during the treatment being removed from your system. This should only last a day or two after your treatment.
If you develop symptoms after this time you should contact the government help lines at Public Health England and inform them of your symptoms. Should they decide; you may be required to self isolate for 14 days and inform them of your movements in the preceding 7 days.
They will contact Ryefield Massage and inform us of any action we may need to take.

I have tested positive for Coronavirus, when can I next come for a treatment?

You will need to follow the latest government guidelines and advise. These will come from Public Health England.
It is likely to be a minimum of 14 days after you test positive before you can resume normal activities.

Will the COVID-19 precautions reduce the effectiveness of my treatment?

Other than wearing a mask you should find little impact on your experience. The treatment will be just as effective and you will still benefit from the treatment.

I am worried about catching Coronavirus but need a treatment to help my condition. What should I do?

If you are worried about the pandemic to the extent that it causes stress to be in an environment with close proximity to another person, then delay your treatment until you feel happier to attend.
We are taking precautions and avoiding high risk situations including supermarkets, we are shopping using the click and collect service to avoid enter the store. We will continue to avoid high risk situations in order to protect our clients.
